While Scientology is way worse hopefully the parallels will get her thinking. When you said that the doctor spouse sacrifices for their patients and their family sacrifices for the doctor's career, it really described my situation. That one I haven't asked him about yet though since I feel like it would be a little presumptuous and might seem like I'm rushing things commitment-wise. Want to add to the discussion. She probably has not studied the real truths behind Mormonism and thinks her beliefs are the only way to become a God while living eternally with family in the life hereafter. Also not one Nickel will be tithed out of any shared funds. But thinking of the children I could not live with myself to do that. It's a fairly new relationship and I don't want to jump to any conclusions.
If your spouse thinks 8 is too young to get baptized, are you all right with waiting until they are older. I am not sorry I married outside the LDS faith. The important thing is whether or not your spouse will support you in your endevours to live your religion. If she can't or won't consider that the church is a lie, you need to move on because this relationship can't go anywhere. Marrying a non-Mormon is not something you do it is something that happens. My experience with non members has been so much more meaningful and caring. You should certainly still date even if you are not looking for a marriage partner. I'm sure their motives and good intentions are good - shame some female patience cause us the Doctors wives to have anxieties. Say goodbye to all that.
